Comtech Demonstrates New Blue Force Tracking-2 High Capacity (BFT-2 HC) Interoperability and Multimode Solution

MELVILLE, N.Y. –
October 30, 2018 — Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL)
announced today that during its first quarter of fiscal 2019, its
Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, which is
part of Comtech’s Government Solutions segment, demonstrated the first
leg of its Blue-Force Tracking-2 High Capacity (“BFT-2 HC”) multimode
solution at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. This new multimode
solution was designed by Comtech and demonstrated that its BFT-2 HC
mobile satellite transceivers can provide for alternative communication
paths to improve resiliency and communications.

The demonstration showed the exchange of BFT data between both Joint
Battle Command-Platform (“JBC-P”) and Joint Capabilities Release (“JCR”)
and Comtech’s BFT-2 HC mobile satellite transceivers, operating over a
geostationary satellite, and a dismount application, operating over a
low earth orbit satellite constellation. The data exchange included
position information as well as a variety of Command and Control (“C2”)
message types.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech
Telecommunications Corp., said, “I believe integrating both
geostationary satellites and low earth orbit satellites into our BFT
network, greatly improves both network resiliency and geographical
coverage as well as offers reduced operating costs. Comtech is committed
to continuing to evolve our BFT capabilities in order to deliver cutting
edge solutions to address emerging threats.”

Comtech currently provides sustaining support for the BFT-1 system and
previously shipped over 100,000 BFT-1 mobile satellite transceivers. As
previously announced, Comtech received an initial $11.7 million order
for its next generation mobile satellite transceivers in support of the
U.S. Army’s BFT-2 system. Deliveries of such orders began during
Comtech’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2018.
