Introducing Comtech: Signals
Welcome to Signals, Comtech’s company-wide blog. Here, you’ll find timely information about our company’s financial and operating performance and how our technology meets the needs of the markets we serve.
From the Chair and CEO
If you’re reading this, then we have something important in common.
Perhaps there’s some part of you that is deeply interested in leveraging technology to solve customer problems in ways that have the potential to genuinely change the world.
For me, this is more than just an interest – it’s been a lifelong passion.
Refreshing and Revitalizing Our Board
At Comtech, transformational change isn’t just occurring in our business and within our organization – it also continues to take place at the highest level, within our Board of Directors. In addition to continued evolution of Comtech’s Board composition and leadership, below are three recent examples.
Changing the Game
It’s been one month since we introduced Ken Peterman as our new CEO, and as he made clear in his inaugural message to shareholders, Ken fully intended to hit the ground running.
Comtech Awarded Foreign Military Sales Contract to support Ukraine’s War Efforts
In March of this year, Comtech made public our decision to donate a number of COMET troposcatter systems at the request of the Ukrainian Government. The application, and need, was obvious: Comtech had been working closely with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense since 2017 to help the country modernize its communications infrastructure.
A 10,000-Year-Old Industry at the Edge of Connectivity Innovation
In our most recent shareholder letter, CEO Ken Peterman observed that there was a transformative convergence taking place in Comtech’s two areas of undisputed expertise: assured terrestrial and wireless network infrastructures, and satellite and space communications. Recently, clear evidence of this convergence – and its importance not only to commerce, but to our fundamental human well-being – was provided by an arguably unexpected sector: agriculture.

Honoring Those Who Serve: Recognizing Comtech Employees that are U.S. Military Veterans
Today, we are celebrating Veterans Day, and the final day of our first annual company-wide Honor Week to recognize those Comtech staff members who are Veterans. As a part of Honor Week, our whole company is sharing appreciation for our former service members in various ways. Each day of the week, Comtech has recognized a different military branch by encouraging employees to wear the branch’s colors and educating our non-Veteran employees on the rich history of each division of the U.S. military.
Government and Industry Leaders Come Together to Discuss US Innovation and National Security at America’s Future Series Summit

Read like the Chief: CEO Ken Peterman’s Favorite Books on Leadership and Business
It’s that time of year! During the holidays, there’s nothing better than cozying up by the fireplace with a good book. If you’re traveling to visit friends and family or for fun, a book can help time spent traveling fly by, and once you get to your destination, reading is a great way to unwind (while working on your tan or avoiding your least favorite relative). In case you’re looking for something to read this holiday season, we asked Comtech’s CEO to share his favorite books on leadership and business.
A New Chapter and A New Brand
I am thrilled to share that we have taken the next step in our transformational work towards a One Comtech, which includes, among many fantastic changes, our new mission. At Comtech, we are in a relentless pursuit of a better way – empowering people by connecting everything and everyone.
Going Above and Beyond at this Year’s First Responder Bowl
As part of our People First strategy, Comtech is passionate about engaging with our employees at every level and acknowledging their hard work both at work and on their personal time, including their volunteer activities. In December, Comtech introduced the first annual “Above and Beyond” award, which was developed to honor Comtech employees who consistently demonstrate an unyielding dedication to their community through their time, actions, talents, and service.
